Thanksgiving at Frank and Ashley’s House

November 27, 2025

Fried turkey, Irish ham, (and whiskey!) all sorts of sides, family, good friends, truly things for which to be thankful!

Downtown Chula Vista!

Instead of making the round trip from our home in Encinitas, we booked a room for the night right on 3rd Avenue, about a mile from Frank & Ash.

El Primero Hotel

OK, it’s old, ugly and musty, but it’s clean, the owners are very nice, the price was right, and it was convenient!

Ginger getting ready

Yes, this is a turkey fryer setup. The pot, the burner, the gas, and the three gallons of frying oil.

The chefs at work

Frank, who broke his elbow playing soccer, needed a lot of help from Rory. But the bird got fried and there were no explosions or fires, so all was good.

Here are some of the boys working on the turkey frying. Looks like hard work to me.

Time for T-day Dinner!

That’s Frank and Lorri at the far end of the table. See below for everybody else.

Around the Table

Kevin, Lois, Ben, Mark, Leo, Ashley, Lynn, Ann, Rosy, Gina, Neil, and Rory

And a few more photos of the day…
